A simplified take on development process that prioritizes predictability, flexibility and delievering end-user value.
Phases
Discovery + Definition
During this step product briefs are created, and high-level functional requirements are captured as Product Backlog Items (PBIs).
Breakdown + Estimation
This phase includes product kick-off, architectural & design spikes, and expansion of non-functional requirements. Quality assurance plans should be formalized during this step.
Execution
Once scope is locked, the team can begin implemenation. During this phase, emerging requirements are captured as “next phase” and unanticiapted technical issues or shortcuts are captured as TechDebt.
Delivery
After a formal 360 review of the entire body of work, it will be approved for merge and deployed to the internal environments. Ultimately this may result in an formal external release (product dependant).
